Hey Chicago Parrotheads!
Winter may be coming, but it doesn’t stop us from being social! SO how about we bundle up and stroll through seven worlds of immersive displays with millions of twinkling lights and festive music! Travel from the North Pole to the Whimsical Forest, with stops at a magical fountain, and royal castle while meeting arctic friends along the way!
The date will be Sunday, December 12 from 4:00 to 7:00 at Impact Field (Chicago Dogs). Parking is $5, and you can purchase your tickets and get more information at:

Get your crafting skills ready as it’s that time of year once again…Ornament Making for the Zoo Tree! Haley & Mike Warren were gracious enough to host the event at their house and even provide lunch. Supplies will be available to make Cheeseburger in Paradise themed ornaments but if you can, bring scissors and Gorilla glue. We need your help put them together! Join the Chicago Parrothead Club for a fun outdoor social event at Herrick Lake in Wheaton, IL. Herrick Lake is a really pretty forest preserve with fishing, and tons of hiking and biking trails. We’ve rented the South Shelter which has picnic tables for 50 people and a fireplace. Cheryl Wegner and Sharon Klupar are planning to cook a cast iron, dutch oven campfire lunch with Beef Stew and Cherry Cobbler for dessert. If you are a cast iron cook and you’d like to join in on the cooking, please let Cheryl Wegner know at cherylwegner9@gmail.comSaturday Oct. 23 (following the highway clean up) 9 am-cooking will start 1 pm-lunch served (no need to bring anything extra!) BYOB-alcohol is not permitted Location-the southeast corner of Butterfield and Herrick Roads in Wheaton. Parking lot is off Herrick Road, follow the signs to the south shelter. If you’re a biker, bring your bike. If you’re a fisherman, bring your tackle–the south shelter if lakeside and the fishing is good right there, and believe it or not, they have a vending machine with live bait! Please bring any board games or activities to play! $5 per person donation for food will be collected at the event There should be plenty of picnic table seating, but bring your bag chairs if you’d like.
Our group is signed up to stuff stockings for Operation Support Our Troops on Nov. 18, 9-11 am. Meet at 8:55 am at 1989 University, Lisle, IL. We can grab lunch afterwards if anyone is interested.
Join the Chicago Parrothead Club in collecting warm clothes for the homeless. “The mission of DuPagePads is to end homelessness in DuPage County, Illinois. Our signature year-round programs feed and shelter individuals and families who are homeless, connect them to case management and other services that can address the underlying cause of their homelessness.” During October we will be collecting ONLY these items for PADS: For both men and women–sweatshirts and sweatpants, long underwear tops and bottoms. Sizes S-XXL At this time, PADS is only accepting new items. Bring your donation to the October club meeting or contact Cheryl Wegner if you can’t make it to the meeting.

We are planning on a keet friendly movie day at Hollywood Palms Theater in Naperville! The movie time is subject to change and friends, family and potential members are welcome! It will be $11 per person for our own private theater!!! We are hoping to show the Disney movie Jungle Cruise (but will adjust as needed). The last movie we watched here was Pirates of the Caribbean and we all dressed up in our pirate / parrothead best! We will be doing this again!!! Please RSVP when we send out the forms!!!
